In September 1997, AmeriCapital Funding Corp. began as a full-line mortgage company. Philip L. King and several other seasoned veterans of the mortgage industry created a thriving mortgage entity located in Birmingham, Alabama. These employees' combined experience exceeds 100 years. Since then, AmeriCapital has continued to be a growing force in the Alabama mortgage market. Their programs and rates give AmeriCapital a competitive edge throughout the Southeast.
Phil entered the mortgage industry in 1986. He immediately found the passion in helping people. Phil grew up as the child of a missionary, and he knew that the mortgage business could help his own calling "to serve." He graduated from Milligan college in Tennessee in 1983, and in 1986 married his beloved Jana. They have four children, and there first grandchild arrived on 4 October 2008. Phil is very active in New Heights, an Independent Christian Church. He currently serves as an Elder, adult teacher and Chairman of the Board of Trustees. Phil has preached for several different churches on an "as-needed" basis. Phil also gives back to the mortgage industry by supporting the Alabama Mortgage Brokers Association. He has served the association as an Education Committee Chair, Board Secretary, and was the AMBA President in 2009. Phil is also an approved Instructor for the National Association of Mortgage Brokers. He currently teaches "Credit Scoring" for the State of Alabama.
